1. Who We Are

IQ Healthspan is an independent health education website operated by Derek Giordano. We are based in the United States. Our website is located at iqhealthspan.com.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

Newsletter sign-ups: When you enter your email address (and, on some forms, your first name) in a sign-up form, it is submitted through Netlify Forms and stored in our Netlify account, together with the page you signed up from. We use it only to send IQ Healthspan research updates. You can ask to be removed at any time, and every email we send will include an unsubscribe link.

Contact form: If you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address, subject and message through Netlify Forms and use them only to read and answer your message.

AI Longevity Coach: When you use the coach, the messages in your current conversation are sent to Anthropic, PBC through its API so that its Claude model can write a reply. We do not store coach conversations or link them to your email address. Please do not type information that identifies you or details of your medical records.

We do not require accounts, and we do not collect passwords, phone numbers or payment information.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

Like most websites, we collect certain technical information automatically when you visit:

• Log data: Your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, and timestamps. This is standard web server logging collected by our hosting provider (Netlify).
• Analytics: We use Google Analytics 4 on every page to understand which pages are read and how visitors find the site. Google Analytics collects information such as the pages you view, how long you stay, your approximate location, and your device and browser. We look at this data in aggregate and do not use it to identify you. Google describes how it uses this information at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
• Cookies: Google Analytics sets analytics cookies (such as _ga) to count visits. We do not use advertising cookies. Our interactive tools save your entries with your browser's local storage rather than cookies.

2.3 Information Stored Locally in Your Browser (Our Interactive Tools)

Several of our tools — including the Personal Longevity Dashboard, the Biological Age Calculator, the Lab Results Interpreter, and the Longevity Stack Builder — store data locally in your browser using localStorage. This means:

• Your lab values, biomarker entries, protocol logs, and biological age data are stored only on your device
• This data is never transmitted to our servers
• We cannot access, view, or retrieve this data
• It persists until you clear your browser data or use the "Clear All Data" function within the tool

Because this data never leaves your device, it is not subject to a data breach on our end. The privacy and security of this data depends on the security of your own device and browser.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• Sending the newsletter you subscribed to, if applicable
• Operating and improving the website — understanding which content is most useful, identifying technical problems, and improving site performance
• Security and fraud prevention — protecting the site from malicious activity
• Legal compliance — complying with applicable laws and responding to lawful requests from public authorities

We do not use your information for advertising, do not sell it to third parties, and do not use it to build profiles for marketing purposes.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share limited information in the following circumstances:

• Service providers: Netlify hosts the site and stores form submissions (Netlify Forms); Google provides analytics (Google Analytics); Anthropic generates AI coach replies. We have not yet chosen an email-sending service for the newsletter, and we will name it here before any subscriber address is shared with one.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required to do so by law, court order, or government authority.
• Business transfers: If IQ Healthspan is acquired or merged with another entity, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

We do not share your information with advertisers, data brokers, supplement companies, or any other commercial third party for their marketing use.

5. Email Newsletter

If you subscribe to the IQ Healthspan newsletter:

• Your email address (and first name, if you gave it) is stored in Netlify Forms. We have not started sending the newsletter yet; when we choose an email-sending service, we will name it in this policy before moving any address to it
• We will never send you promotional emails from third-party companies
• You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email, or by emailing us at privacy@iqhealthspan.com
• When you unsubscribe or ask to be removed, we delete your address from Netlify Forms and from any email service we use

6. Data Retention

Newsletter sign-ups and contact messages are kept in Netlify Forms until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Web server log data is kept by our hosting provider under its standard practices. Google Analytics data is kept by Google according to the data-retention setting on our Analytics property. AI coach conversations are not stored by us.

Data stored locally in your browser by our tools has no expiry date — it persists until you delete it using your browser settings or the tool's built-in clear function.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you are located, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including:

• Access: The right to know what personal information we hold about you
• Correction: The right to correct inaccurate personal information
• Deletion: The right to request deletion of your personal information
• Portability: The right to receive your personal information in a portable format
• Objection: The right to object to certain types of processing

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at privacy@iqhealthspan.com. We will respond within 30 days. Note that because our interactive tools store data only in your browser, we have no access to that data and cannot fulfill deletion requests for it — you must delete it through your browser settings or the tool's clear function.

California residents (CCPA): California law grants additional rights including the right to know what categories of personal information are collected, the right to opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information), and the right to non-discrimination for exercising privacy rights.

EU/EEA residents (GDPR): If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation. Our lawful basis for processing newsletter email addresses is your explicit consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You may withdraw this consent at any time by unsubscribing.

8. Children's Privacy

IQ Healthspan is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us at privacy@iqhealthspan.com and we will promptly delete it.

9. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we hold. Our website is served over HTTPS. Our hosting provider (Netlify) maintains industry-standard security practices. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Because our interactive tools store data locally in your browser rather than on our servers, the primary security consideration for that data is the security of your own device.

10. Third-Party Links

Our website contains links to third-party websites, including research journals, laboratory services, and other health resources. This Privacy Policy applies only to IQ Healthspan. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit through links on our site.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will provide more prominent notice, such as a notification on the site or an email to newsletter subscribers. Your continued use of the site after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
